Chief Robert J. Veal Jr.
A Dyersburg native
and being hired in August 27, 1975, Chief Bob Veal has over
30 years of experience in the Fire Service. Prior to his appointment
as Fire Chief in March 2002, Chief Veal held every promotional
rank through the rank of Training Officer. Bob has gained
experience working in assignments encompassing all aspects
of the department throughout all three city fire stations.
Chief Veal is a
registered emergency medical technician, a member of the Tennessee
Fire Chief’s Association and International Association
of Arson Investigators. He is involved with FEMA / TEMA throughout
the District nine Homeland Security operations.
Chief Veal is the
Authority Having Jurisdiction throughout the city, He oversees
all day to day operations in operations and administrations
at the Fire Department as well as the Emergency Operations
Center (911 Dispatch).
