911 Center Operations

The Dyersburg 911 Center is a professional organization that serves the citizens of Dyersburg.

 

 

 

The center answers emergency 911 and non-emergency 311 calls for the following agencies:

     
Dyersburg Police   55 full time police officers

Dyersburg Fire   52 full time fire fighters with 3 stations

Dyersburg Regional EMS   6 ALS units

Staffing for the center includes 11 full time dispatchers and 1 manager.


Training

Each recruit dispatcher is required to complete 511 hours of basic training and certification prior to being assigned as a 911 call taker/dispatcher.

Each operator is also required to complete 24 hours of annual continuing education.
