Minimum
Employment Requirements

Have
a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
-
No
conviction, or guilty plea, or nolo -contendere
to any felony charge or to any violation of
any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating
to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor
or controlled substances
-
Must
be 18 years of age and a citizen of the United States
-
Meet
the minimum standards on all test and evaluations
-
Not
have been discharged from Military Service with less than
a Honorable or
Medical Discharge
Basic
Competency Test
CritiCall
Applicant Testing software is
used. The applicant will take a computer based
test in a simulated dispatch environment. The applicant
will attempt the following modules:
Applicants
who are given conditional employment offers must successfully

Pass
a chemical substance abuse screen

Complete
a psychological evaluation

Complete
a comprehensive medical evaluation
-
Complete
a detailed background investigation, including but not
limited to verification of information in the application
and criminal history, submit fingerprints to the FBI and
TBI
Salary
and Benefits
- Entry Recruit
Dispatch : $13.05/hour or $27,144 annual
- Top:
$16.25 per hour or
$34,364 annual
- Overtime,
Vacations, Sick and Holiday Pay, Uniforms Provided,
Military Leave, Pension Plan, Medical-Health Insurance,
Credit Union, Gym - Weight Room
- Part Time Positions - $12 per hour
