About the Mayor
Mayor Holden was first elected in November 2006 and is now serving his third four (4) year term as Mayor of the City of Dyersburg following his re-election in November 2014.
Mayor Holden is a 1978 graduate of Dyersburg High School. He attended Dyersburg State Community College, transferred to U.T. Knoxville and graduated with a Business Administration degree in 1983. He was elected in 1994 to the Dyer County Legislative Body and served for a total of 12 years, including 3 years as Budget Committee Chairman and 7 years as Education Committee Chairman. Mayor Holden is a member of the Board of Directors of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Trustees for the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Municipal League currently serving as 2nd Vice President, a member and past President of the Dyersburg Noon Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, past President of the YMCA of Dyer County and the Dyersburg State Community College Alumni Association. Mayor Holden has two children, ages 15 and 14.
They are active members of First Baptist Church, Dyersburg.
