Steps to Make Water Safe, Step 4

Coagulation & Flocculation & Sedimentation - Lime and polymers cling to the particles of water. The particles stick together and form larger particles called floc. The floc settles to the bottom of the clarifiers and is periodically flushed from the system into a backwash holding basin. From there it flows to the waste water plant.
